Abstract:
The current research aims to identify:
1- The level of desire to learn among students of the History Department at the College of Basic Education / Al-Mustansiriya University.
2- The statistically significant differences in the desire to learn among the students of the History Department in the College of Basic Education / Al-Mustansiriya University according to the gender variable.
The research was determined by the students of the History Department at the College of Basic Education at Al-Mustansiriya University for the four stages of the morning study and for the academic year (2020-2021). In learning prepared from plastic (Elephant, 2019), the psychometric properties of the scale were extracted, and to complete that, the tool was applied to a sample of (300) male and female students from the above-mentioned research community, then analyzed the data using the Statistical Portfolio for Social Sciences (SPSS) and the results were as follows:
1- Students in the research sample possess an above-average level of desire to learn.
2- The female students from the research sample distinguished the male students in each of the desire to learn.
In light of the research results, the researcher made a number of recommendations and suggestions.
