The possibility of applying e-learning at the Faculty of Computer and Information Technology – Garmian University using the Moodle e-learning platform in light of the Corona pandemic

ABSTRACT:

The rapid spread of the Internet, the growth in the World Wide Web, the development of multimedia technologies, in addition to the emergence of new approaches to designing and presenting online lectures and self-learning via the Internet, and their widespread use in most public universities and educational institutions due to the exacerbation of the problem of the Corona pandemic at the global and local levels. Both, which led to changing the society’s view of e-learning by enabling people (teachers and students) to work at any time and anywhere, which prompted the two researchers to think about designing and preparing interactive lectures using the Moodle program at the Faculty of Computer and Information Technology – Karmian University, The practical aspect of the research was carried out in three main stages:

1- The schematic side.

2- Design aspect.

3- The executive side.

Where the objectives of the course were determined, which were the number of lectures, the target group, and a plan for the course content of lectures (type Docx, Pdf or PPtx type) for the student to download with ease and ease of access to the site after entering (user name, password).

In the process of designing the study site (which was called the College of Computer and Information Technology), where web pages and interfaces were created using the programming language MYSQL, PHP for the purpose of developing the content of the Moodle site, which provides effective administrative tools, communication tools, student participation tools, and student productivity. By sending them assignments and course content delivery tools, both teachers and students can be easily assigned to access, communicate, review, create and organize all their activities interactively.
