Abstract:

The oil industry in Iraq has gone through different eras and successive periods of fluctuation, starting with the wars that Iraq fought with neighboring countries and what these wars left in terms of burning and sabotaging the oil industrial sites, as well as exposing these facilities to looting, as well as the great need to provide the necessary resources for the reconstruction  Iraq as a result of the destruction of infrastructure and superstructures as a result of the invasion and occupation of Iraq in 2003 and the increasing burden of debts incurred by it, which prompted the Iraqi Ministry of Oil to adopt the method of service contracts for the development of oil fields by offering a number of them in a number of oil licensing rounds.
