The reality of the technical institute library in Nasiriyah (case study)

Abstract:
The university library is an important part of the university entity, and it shares with it the most important goals, if not all, and is interested in feeding the university community with information and knowledge vessels of different types and forms. Scientific and technical information is the first building block in higher education and scientific research, and that the shelves of libraries contain the fruit of ancient and modern human effort, good credit management, investment and economy in resources, provision of appropriate services, communications, and provision of appropriate information for decision-making; All returns stemming from the optimal use of automated information systems in the field of university libraries.
Hence the need to present a concept about university libraries and their impact on improving the quality of information provided to their beneficiaries at the level of preliminary and graduate studies, in addition to the level of scientific and humanitarian specialization alike. Therefore, this study came to shed light on the library of the Technical Institute in Nasiriyah, its objectives and the quality of services it provides. In terms of borrowing, its reference services, briefing services, selective information broadcasting service, and the university library playing the role of training beneficiaries of primary studies students and researchers on the principles of research, investigation and investigation of information, in addition to services related to the encyclopedia of technical information and information provision services through the use of photocopying and copying techniques.
The researcher used a case study using the library of the Technical Institute in Nasiriyah as a model for research as it is a government university library chosen by the researcher because it has a long history that spanned over more than thirty years and the number of beneficiaries of its services exceeded more than one million students and researchers in addition to the many titles it contains.
