A geographical analysis of the characteristics of the phenomenon of orphanhood in the district of the Shuyukh market for the year 2019

Abstract:

No two disagree that geography has a close interconnected relationship with other sciences, especially social ones, so geography started from this field to study the social phenomena that are most related to it in terms of their distribution and spatial variance and research into their causes. strongly in Iraq in general and the Suq al-Shuyukh district in particular, given the events in Iraq of the American occupation and the military operations related to it, not to mention the terrorism and terrorist operations that caused huge losses in lives and property, in addition to the sectarian war that Iraq witnessed after 2003, which reaped everything and everything of young males, leaving behind tens of thousands of orphans, all these events and others were enough to exacerbate this phenomenon and its emergence in Iraq and the study area .

From this point of view and in view of the lack of studies that dealt with the phenomenon of  orphanhood , this study came to examine this phenomenon and to stand on its causes and geographical dimensions and to know the demographic , social , economic and educational characteristics of orphans in the district of  Suq Al-Shuyukh as well as its spatial variation and the factors behind it .
