The French position in the peace conferences 1919-1920 regarding the issue of the right to self-determination for Greater Syria

Abstract:

The increased interest shown by France in the states of the Arab Mashreq since long ago, during which various war, commercial or religious methods were crowned with missionary missionaries and charitable schools, do not hide their control over the region, given their strategic position to take from the protection of Christian nationals in Syria and Lebanon as an excuse to interfere in the affairs of the region. With the aim of acquiring it after it succeeded in mobilizing its forces against the Syrian government represented by Prince Faisal, who entered with him in futile negotiations to end his expulsion from Syria and the separation of the Greater Lebanon by approving the French mandate for them to become sovereign and influence in them Since the 1920 flag.
