Abstract :

The research aimed to reveal the concept of integration among educational institutions in promoting the values of citizenship for secondary education in Palestine. The researchers followed the descriptive and analytical approach. They dealt with the definition of citizenship and its objectives, the fields of citizenship and its characteristics, the themes of citizenship and its components, and the presentation of the theoretical framework for the values of good citizenship and ways to strengthen it. A vision for the role of educational institutions has been developed. This vision consists of four axes which are school, family, media institutions, and religious institutions, including: Emphasizing the values of democracy and tolerance and respect for others, including topics related to national identity and belonging to teach in school curricula, working on respecting the symbols of the Palestinian flag and anthem, respecting the political leadership, directing the Palestinian media policy to perform its work with a sincere responsibility and a high commitment to national principles, as well as enhancing the spirit of cooperation among students by the religious institutions. The most important recommendations are the need to strengthen the value system in society through the school and the introduction of contemporary trends in education on citizenship based on the foundations of democracy, the circulation of power, the political pluralism and the values of equality and social justice.
